The three rules
Every volume clears all three before it is published, without exception.
- It has to be usable. Each volume carries an instrument, a script, a protocol or an exercise the reader applies within the week. A chapter that cannot produce one is usually a chapter we did not need.
- It has to say where it comes from. Every volume names the research and authors behind it, and names what it does not reproduce. The complete reference list is public on this site.
- It has to state its limits. What the material is, and what it is not, is written into the volume itself — not buried in a footer.
Originality and citation
- Our volumes are original synthesis. We do not summarize, abridge, translate or rewrite another author's book, and we do not publish "summaries of" anything.
- Ideas that belong to a researcher are attributed by name in the volume and on the research page.
- We reproduce no proprietary instrument — no trademarked questionnaire, inventory or typology, and no close imitation of one. Where a well-known instrument exists under trademark, we say so and stay away from it.
- Citation is not endorsement. No researcher or author we cite is affiliated with Brightway Academy, and none has reviewed or approved our material. We say this on every page that names them.
- Where popular material has weak or contested evidence, we either leave it out or mark it as a framing device. Our published list of thinner evidence is part of this commitment.
What we never claim
"Academy" is a brand name. It is not, and has never been, a claim of academic standing. Specifically, Brightway Academy never states or implies that it:
- is a university, college, school or accredited institution, or that its material carries academic credit;
- awards degrees, certifications, licences or professional credentials of any kind;
- diagnoses, treats or cures any medical or psychological condition;
- produces material that can be used to screen, select, hire or dismiss anyone;
- is endorsed by, partnered with or affiliated with any researcher, author, publisher or institution we cite;
- has readers, results or reviews it does not have. We do not publish invented testimonials or invented credentials in the name of the imprint.
Where a book is the wrong tool
Some situations need a person, not a page, and our material says so and stops. Every relevant volume carries this line, and we will not soften it to make a sale:
Educational material. It is not a clinical diagnosis and does not replace care from a licensed professional. If there is abuse, coercion or violence in your relationship, or if you are in crisis, please seek professional support in your country.
We do not publish material aimed at reconciling a reader with an abusive partner, and we do not frame safety-relevant behaviour as a communication problem to be solved with a script.
Voice and claims
- Promises are numbered, never vague. Twenty volumes, one hundred questions, thirty days. Not "transform your life".
- No clinical or curative language in marketing or in the books: tool, instrument, practice, exercise — not cure, heal or breakthrough.
- No manufactured urgency that is not real. If a price is permanent, we do not put a timer on it.
- Direct, unhurried, plain. We write like an experienced colleague, not like a salesperson and not like a lecturer.
Production and technology
We are a small editorial operation and we use modern production tools — including software assistance in layout, illustration and drafting — the way any contemporary publisher does. What that never changes:
- Every volume is edited and approved by a person before publication. Nothing reaches a reader unreviewed.
- Sources are chosen and verified by hand. A reference appears on our research page because someone read it, not because a tool produced the citation.
- We do not fabricate evidence. No invented studies, no invented statistics, no invented quotations. If we cannot source a claim, it does not go in the book.
Corrections
If we misattribute an idea, misstate a finding or get something wrong, write to corrections@brightwayacademy.net. We correct the affected volume in its next edition and note the correction on the research page. A publisher that lists its sources has to be reachable when the list is wrong.
Reader support. Questions about an order, a download or a volume go to support@brightwayacademy.net, and we answer them. Purchase terms are set out in our terms.
